Hydrostatic cylinder inspection

In the Netherlands it is mandatory to have cylinders hydrostatically inspected every 5 years. This process includes a visual inspection, internal blasting for rust, and testing the cylinder under 1.5 times normal operating pressure with water. If approved, the cylinder will receive an inspection stamp in the neck for an additional 5 years of use. Deliver the cylinder bare (without base, net and tap) or pay extra for disassembly. Additional costs also apply for rust under the foot. If the cylinder is rejected, it will be rendered unusable and the costs of the inspection will be payable. The standard lead time for an inspection is on average 2 weeks, with options for acceleration. Delays may occur if the cylinder needs to be sprayed or the inspector is absent.
